New Venue for Sunday TRaining from 27th July
Times will be 10.30-11.30 Jodo etc, 11.30-1pm iai (same as usual).
Venue is:
Munrow Sports Centre Edgbaston Birmingham West Midlands B15 2TT T: 0121-414 4117
For Sunday training starting 27th July. Tuesday training is still in Muntz Street at present.

Jodo Grading at Darlington
(Message from Watson Sensei, "To reaffirm, the grading is to be up to and including 4th dan for Iaido. We are still short of UK examiners to hold a 4th dan Jodo grading but if significantly enough people are interested I will organise for European support to be given." He can be contacted on spoonifer@yahoo.co.uk. Therefore if you are interested in grading Jodo 4th dan please let me know as soon as possible.

High Grade Training announced for September 2008
Goodman Sensei has announced that she will be holding a traditional style training session in September. See Events for further details.

Oshita Sensei Receives 8th Dan
Goodman Sensei is delighted to announce that her teacher & mentor Oshita Sensei has achieved 8th Dan, the Masamune Dojo would also like to send their congratulations.

Masamune has 2 New Coaching Staff
We are delighted to announce that Piotr and John have both achieved their BKA coaching qualifications.

Goodman Sensei is asked to Switzerland
Goodman Sensei has just returned from Switzerland where she was asked to help judge a series of Iaido gradings at a National level. The gradings were very successful and she commented that she was delighted at the standards and development of Iaido that were demonstrated.

Success at Watchett for Masamune
We are delighted to announce that we have had successful gradings at the Spring School and Gradings in Watchett. Jem and Chris achieved their Ikkyu Grade, Jess and Andrew achieved Shodan and Graham, Karl and Barrie achieved Nidan (second degree black belt). Congratualtions to them all.

Masamune TaiKai Details Announced

Goodman Sensei on the BBC to Discuss Sword Ban
On Sunday 17th March Goodman Sensei has followed up on her previous article to BBC (see here for the link) with a live link from the Masamune Dojo. The link was shown on the BBC Politics Show to represent the feelings and beliefs of many Japanese martial artists regarding the proposed sword ban.
