Sword Ban Compliance
To comply with both new legislation and existing legislation it is suggested that the following is borne in mind when using your sword (this is not a definitive guideline, nor is it legal advice).
We should:

- Never left unattended when travelling to a training session and during the training session
- Never carry your sword in the public domain when there is no purpose (this is illegal and could incur a) caution b) prosecution c) fine and/or imprisonment
- Ensure you carry your BKA licence with you at all times especially when travelling abroad
- Never use you sword in a public domain unless there is an official reason to do so e.g. demonstration
- Never allow anyone else to take and/or carry your sword unless you have a good reason for them to do so
- Take a photograph of your sword for insurance and identification purposes
- Report any theft of a sword immediately to the police
- DO NOT sell your sword privately without seeking legal advice first as this may be illegal
- DO NOT buy a sword from a non authorised retailer as although the action of buying may not be illegal, you should not wish to be involved in any subsequent investigations
